If you’re looking for a lightweight, low impact, A2 licence approved commuter that can still tackle tricky terrain on the weekend, the revamped 2023 KTM 390 Adventure is just the bike.
KTM haven’t exactly gone back to the drawing board on this one, but a few well considered upgrades have increased this bike’s ability to take on tricky trails.
New wheels headline the upgrades
The most warranted upgrade to the 2023 KTM 390 Adventure is the new light black anodized aluminium rims and spoked wheels. The added toughness of the new wheels should fill the rider with confidence that your offroad blast won’t be cut short.
Fresh look for 2023
It wouldn’t be a new KTM model without a fresh graphics package. The 390 Adventure has been hit with a sleek looking pitch black and classic KTM orange colorway.
Smaller, but with the same travel tuned tech
The 2023 KTM 390 Adventure has smaller dimensions and specs compared to the rest of the KTM Adventure family but it gets the same treatment when it comes to essential offroad tech.
Techy bits include:
- Ride-by-wire
- Motorcycle Traction Control
- Cornering ABS
- OFFROAD mode and linked OFFROAD ABS
- Slipper clutch
- 5” colour TFT screen
- Intuitive handlebar switch
Compact engine that cranks out power
Compact is usually marketing speak for small, but the 373cc single cylinder engine, that employs twin overhead camshafts, a balancer shaft and electronic FI kicks out 44hp and 3Nm of torque at 7000 rpm.
If you’re worried about emissions, this engine has two catalytic converters to meet Euro5 emissions targets. The 14.5 litre fuel tank has a vapour design which also boosts the bike’s eco credentials.

Rattle off these features if your trying to justify buying this bike to yourself or your better half:
