A sports tourer with a throttle blast is how the soon-to-be-released KTM SMT is being billed.
It’s been a fair few years since KTM released an SMT model with the original gracing roads from 2008 onwards.
Offroad travel and adventure models have dominated KTM’s announcement for a while, but tarmac travellers finally have something to cheer about.
KTM didn't divulge too much information about the new SMT in their teaser video. But it did get us salivating at the thought of what will happen when this well renowned sports tourer meets KTM’s latest technological upgrades.
The press release hints at a pretty substantial overhaul, in their own words:
“KTM is proud to have taken the SMT, shaken the formula and added some READY TO RACE magic.”
You can put the credit card away for now as KTM won’t be unveiling the new SMT until April. But this is your pre-release warning.
