Hot on the heels of the release of the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S comes the second iteration of KTM’s offroad travel beast the R.
The R has proved itself as the perfect premium travel machine for hardcore offroad adventures.
Last year the R redefined the top end of the travel adventure market with the winning combination of power, lightness, and agility blended with state-of-the-art electronics and WP suspension, unbeatable travel features and styling.
The MY 2023 KTM 1290 Super Adventure R has undergone a few tweaks and upgrades, but if it ain’t broke don’t fix it comes to mind for the team here at AMS.
Navigation upgrades
For 2023, KTM has boosted the navigation potential of the KTM 1290 Super Adventure R. Turn-by-Turn+ guidance has been added and the rider can now set waypoints and diversions through the handlebar switch dial and through the TFT.
No need to prop the bike and fish around for the phone that engages the KTMConnect APP; everything – including phone call answering and logging top ten ‘favourites’ - can all be done with a dab of a finger.
New colour scheme for 2023

The 2023 colour scheme introduces a sporty white with a distinctive KTM orange frame. The scheme is a firm nod in the direction of the bikes that’ve been so successful in the DAKAR and other hard rallies around the world.
