KTM Brings the Heat: The 2026 KTM 990 RC R Is Here

The wait is over. The 2026 KTM 990 RC R has landed and it’s everything Supersport fans have been asking for. Built for sharp handling, fast track days and real-world road riding, this new machine blends performance and practicality in a way only KTM can.

With aggressive styling, smart tech and punchy power, the 990 RC R takes its place at the front of KTM’s street line-up. Whether you’re chasing apexes or just want a bike that looks like it belongs on the MotoGP grid, this one ticks all the right boxes.

Built for the Track, Refined for the Road

At the heart of the 990 RC R is KTM’s trusted LC8c engine, delivering 130 PS and 103 Nm of torque. It’s EURO5+ compliant and feels quick, responsive and confident at any speed. The chassis is purpose-built too, combining a steel frame, die-cast aluminium subframe and adjustable ergonomics to give you the best of both agility and comfort.

The riding position is READY TO RACE but still practical for everyday use, with a supportive six-point contact patch at the tank, pegs, seat and bars. Adjustable footrests and a 16-litre fuel tank add further comfort and convenience.

Racing DNA Meets Everyday Versatility

The styling leaves no doubt about the bike’s track inspiration. Aerodynamically tested and shaped using KTM’s own racing data, the wind-tunnel-developed fairing, striking orange or black colour options and sharp angles deliver real presence on the road.

Underneath the bodywork, you’ll find a spec sheet that’s all business:

  • 320 mm Brembo HyPure brakes

  • WP APEX suspension

  • 8.8” TFT display with RAIN, STREET, SPORT and CUSTOM ride modes

  • Optional TRACK mode and two extra CUSTOM modes

  • Four ABS settings: STREET, SPORT, SUPERMOTO+ and SUPERMOTO

With added telemetry like lean angle and throttle position tracking, the 990 RC R gives riders detailed feedback to keep them in control, on the road or on the circuit.

Track Version Now Available

For riders focused purely on racing, the KTM 990 RC R TRACK version is also now available. This track-only machine skips road components in favour of race-focused upgrades, including:

  • Direct brake lines

  • Removed ABS modulator

  • Track-tuned gearbox

  • Reduced dash and race-spec electronics

It’s a purpose-built race bike, developed at KTM’s Mattighofen factory to get you closer to the limit from the first lap.

The Ultimate Adventure Machine: The 2025 KTM 390 Adventure R
The Ultimate Adventure Machine: The 2025 KTM 390 Adventure R

KTM has taken adventure riding to a whole new level with the introduction of the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure R. A true offroad-focused machine, this lightweight, rally-inspired model is built for those who seek the thrill of exploring rugged landscapes, tackling dirt trails, and pushing boundaries. With a new 399 cc LC4c engine, upgraded suspension, and cutting-edge technology, the 390 Adventure R sets a new benchmark in the middleweight adventure segment.

Unstoppable Offroad Capability

For riders who live for the dirt, the KTM 390 Adventure R is the most offroad-capable bike in its class. It boasts a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel setup, ensuring maximum stability and confidence when riding over rough terrain. The Mitas Enduro Trail E07+ tyres provide excellent grip on loose surfaces, making light work of sand, mud and gravel.

When the road ends, Offroad Mode transforms the riding experience, allowing controlled rear-wheel slip for tackling tricky conditions. Paired with Offroad ABS, riders can confidently lock up the rear wheel to slide into corners and navigate technical sections with ease. The best part? Offroad settings remain active even after stalling or switching the bike off, so you’re always ready to ride.

Adventure-Ready Suspension

The WP APEX suspension package is designed to handle everything from fast-paced trail riding to technical climbs.

  • 43 mm WP APEX open cartridge forks with 230 mm of travel
  • Adjustable compression and rebound damping with 30 clicks of adjustability
  • WP APEX Separate Piston rear shock with 230 mm of travel
  • Rebound adjustability with 20 clicks on the fly
  • Tool-adjustable preload for different riding loads

Whether you’re standing on the pegs navigating a rock garden or carving through dirt switchbacks, the 390 Adventure R remains composed, giving you total control.

Power Meets Efficiency

At the heart of the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure R is the latest generation 399 cc LC4c engine, delivering 33 kW (44 hp) and 39 Nm of torque. This lightweight yet powerful engine is Euro 5.2 compliant, ensuring smooth acceleration and improved fuel efficiency.

A new gearbox and optimised cylinder head refine power delivery, while a 14-litre fuel tank offers impressive range, making it easy to venture deep into the wilderness without worrying about refuelling.

Technology That Works for You

Designed for real-world adventure, the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure R is packed with smart rider aids:

  • Cornering MTC (Motorcycle Traction Control) for confident power delivery on any surface
  • Cornering ABS and Offroad ABS for controlled braking on and off the tarmac
  • Full-colour 5-inch TFT display with auto-adaptive brightness
  • Multi-functional menu switch for easy control
  • KTMconnect for music, calls, and optional turn-by-turn navigation

A USB-C port is also standard, keeping your devices charged on the go.

Adventure Ergonomics

KTM has designed the 390 Adventure R with rally-inspired ergonomics to maximise rider control and comfort.

  • Aggressive bodywork and graphics inspired by KTM’s rally machines
  • Robust engine guard to protect against rocks and debris
  • Slim, rally-style windscreen for optimal visibility
  • Single-piece stepped seat for all-day riding comfort
  • Adjustable footpegs with removable rubber inserts

Lightweight, Tough, and Ready to Go

The ultra-light trellis frame gives the 390 Adventure R its signature agility, while a steel subframe ensures durability. At just 165 kg (without fuel), it’s perfectly balanced for technical riding, allowing riders to tackle extreme terrain without the bulk of larger adventure bikes.

The Ultimate Middleweight Explorer

Whether you're carving through twisty backroads, charging down singletrack trails, or tackling deep sand, the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure R is built to go further, faster, and harder. With class-leading suspension, cutting-edge technology, and true offroad DNA, it’s the perfect bike for those who want a serious adventure machine without stepping up to a heavyweight model.

Ride Worry-Free: KTM’s 4-Year Premium Manufacturer’s Warranty
Ride Worry-Free: KTM’s 4-Year Premium Manufacturer’s Warranty

Every new KTM* comes with a standard manufacturer’s warranty, but the Premium Manufacturer’s Warranty takes things further, offering hassle-free extended coveragecompletely free—on eligible models. Covering all new 2023, 2024, and 2025 KTM Street and Travel motorcycles with LC8 or LC8c engines, this warranty applies to bikes ranging from the KTM 790 Duke to the powerhouse KTM 1390 Super Duke R EVO.

This means whether you’re tearing through city streets, carving mountain passes or tackling epic long-haul adventures, KTM has you covered.

Worldwide Coverage, No Strings Attached

The Premium Manufacturer’s Warranty is a global policy, meaning KTM owners can roam far and wide with full confidence. Even better, the warranty is attached to the motorcycle, not the rider. If you decide to sell your bike within the coverage period, the remaining warranty is transferred to the new owner—maintaining its value and making it an even more attractive purchase.

The only requirement? Stick to KTM’s service schedule by booking your regular servicing with an authorised KTM dealer. Keep your bike in top condition, and your warranty stays valid—up to four years of complete coverage.

Rider-Focused, Hassle-Free Protection

KTM understands that riders want to spend more time on the road and less time dealing with paperwork. That’s why the Premium Manufacturer’s Warranty is designed to be as simple as possible. Just service your bike as scheduled at an authorised KTM dealer, and KTM takes care of the rest.

“Every KTM motorcycle that leaves our factory comes with the promise of quality and excitement for both new and regular customers,” says Spela Kovacic, VP Global Customer Service. “To offer extra protection against any-and-all eventualities, we’ve added a Premium Manufacturer’s Warranty, ramping up the value for our customers. This warranty is designed to be hassle-free, with all paperwork handled by us. We believe riders will appreciate the benefits of this scheme and continue to enjoy their KTM experience on the road.”

Ready to Ride?

The Premium Manufacturer’s Warranty applies to new models in stock purchased from 3 February 2025. For full details, visit the warranty section on KTM.com or speak to one of our team at AMS motorcycles.

With up to four years of cover, KTM is making sure that nothing gets in the way of your next great adventure. Ride hard, ride worry-free—KTM has you covered.
